A natural resource to decarbonize the industry. A PhD in physics and with experience in the finance world, Rafik Kheffache decided to embark on a new entrepreneurial venture to align with his goals. After conducting numerous studies and research on the sands of the Sahara, he was captivated by the power of solar energy. “It is the most abundant energy source on Earth,” he insists. “A plant the size of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region would be enough to power the entire planet 24/7.”
Eager to optimize its use, he decided to launch his start-up, Heliosand, and leverage the phenomenon of solar energy concentration to decarbonize industries. Thanks to a mobile device equipped with a ten-meter-diameter magnifying glass, this “elementary part” can concentrate a large portion of sunlight.
