Heliosand: Innovation in Support of the Transition

Heliosand has developed a ‘solar magnifying glass’ technology that uses concentrated sunlight to reach truly phenomenal temperatures—up to 4000°C 🌡️

• The goal: to vitrify waste such as industrial sludge by heating it to extremely high temperatures. This waste would otherwise be incinerated or landfilled due to a lack of alternative solutions
• The energy used is completely decarbonized (since it’s 100% solar)
• After the process, the vitrified materials can be crushed and reused as raw materials in the production of cement concrete, glass, and more 🏭
